Duration of immobilization is approximately 3 to 4 weeks.In the presence of vascular compromise or compartment syndrome, emergent intervention is essential. Type 3 – Treatment consists of closed reduction and percutaneous pinning.With either treatment method, critical analysis of Baumann’s angle and the anterior humeral line are important. Treatment may consist of placement of a long arm cast with close follow-up or closed reduction and percutaneous pinning. Type 2 – There are differing opinions on the treatment of Type 2 supracondylar humerus fractures.Type 1 –Place in a long arm cast, elbow flex ≤ 90 degrees.In general, the Gartland Classification can be used for a basic treatment algorithm. ![]()
